PETALING JAYA: School authorities should not jump the gun by issuing the expulsion letter to parents of the missing orang asli children near Gua Musang, Kelantan.
Parent Action Group for Education Malaysia (PAGE) founder Datin Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim said it was outraged with the action.
“I think it is too premature for them to issue the letter as they do not even know whether the children are still alive.
“At the moment, we must ensure the safety of the children and their safe return,” she said yesterday.
She was responding to a report that the parents of the missing orang asli children allegedly received an expulsion letter from the school, stating their children would be expelled if they did not return to school within 31 days.
The letter, which has gone viral, has caused outrage, especially the orang asli community.
Noor Azimah said the ministry should use a soft approach as they had yet to find the children.
